there you were, you were gone
it took an instant and magnificence
melted away to a charred ash
immortality is infringing on forever
and I knew that finite ends come
but this instant rushed me
like a gust of carrion air, hot and heavy
as if I was slapped across the face
a stunned child because he was chastised
they say these types of deaths
are unfortunate accidents in papers
and in gossip and hushed whispers
but everyone knows there are no
accidental deaths in these lives here
God needs your soul, it has purpose
so he chose you to leave us
and accident is just antoher illusion
an excuse, a euphemism to help us cope
